The chap on the left in this photograph, a local businessman now in his seventies, came to my exhibition last month. He was quite taken with my portrait of Kirk Douglas as Vincent Van Gogh. He came back again with this photograph taken in the sixties I believe, actually in the premises where my exhibition took place, and asked if I could create something similar of his father pictured on the right.
Quite a challenge for me as the head and shoulders of the subject are only a couple of inches high in the photograph.
Below is what I came up with, having to be a little creative with the finer details due to the tiny reference material. I delivered it personally this morning and I'm told it's a pretty good likeness.
