Her Father's Robe

I re-visited this painting this week, it's one I painted a while back.

Many of my North American customers can claim Native American Indian heritage. When I've spoken with them, without exception all have been immensely proud of their ancestry. This painting depicts a modern girl, wrapped in an old buffalo robe, perhaps belonging to an ancestor, certainly forming a connection to her forefathers. To complete it I've added quite a bit of colour to the background and given her some extra face paint too. Matted and framed in a wide natural ash frame, it's currently on offer in my bargain room on the Mighty Fine Art website.
