This is 16.5 x 15 inches watercolour on W&N 140lb NOT watercolour paper.I used for reference a photograph by Steve Gibbs from the Paint My Photo library. I purposely kept the background quite simple with muted colours to try to accentuate the power and also the detail on the Shire horse. I think it will look fine once I get it into it's wooden frame.

I love 'working' horses. My own mare is a Shire Cross (although not as 'heavy' as this one.
