Here is the reason my work schedule is likely to take a bit of a back seat for a while. Her name is Bonnie, a German Shepherd who we picked up today from the Eastern German Shepherd Rescue in Norfolk. She is 6 years old and absolutely gorgeous. She does have a few things which need to be sorted out, mainly learning to walk comfortably on a lead and also greeting other dogs a little less boisterously. But on the whole she is well behaved and friendly, loving people and children as much as she loves other dogs (once she's met them and calmed down)

Bonnie had a rather nasty start in life. She was found dumped in a dustbin when she was a very small puppy, over in Spain. Luckily she was found by a man who was on holiday who made all the arrangements to get her over to England, where she has lived happily with him for 6 years. Sadly, due to sudden health issues he became unable to look after her any longer and she found herself at the EGSR. Lucky for us, I spotted her and here she is now at home with us. As you can see from the video, she and Leon are getting along fine. It's still very spooky for me at the moment as she is the absolute image of dear old Murphy who we lost just over a year ago to cancer. Here's hoping she continues to settle in and we have many happy and healthy years together.

Congratulations on your new arrival, it is wonderful to see that another dog will enjoy living with such an obviously caring and responsible owner. I enjoyed reading about Murphy, he left a legacy bigger than you know.
I wish you all many years of happiness together!
